WEM Summer Softball 2025
Grades 1-11
Important Date: Please register on-line by March 15^th

Welcome to the 2025 WEM summer softball program. The WEM summer softball program is for 1^st-11^th grade players. Teams play one night a week in the Southern Star League. The Southern Star League is a traveling league with teams from WEM and the surrounding communities. Games begin mid-late May for elementary levels and the first week of June for junior high/high school levels. Elementary practices will begin the end of April or beginning of May. Dates for practices will be determined at a later date once coaches are assigned to teams. Teams typically practice 1-2 nights a week in April and May, then once a week once games start. Players are split up by their grade or age division. See below for game nights. 1^st and 2^nd grade will not play in the traveling league. They will have practices and intra-squad scrimmages.

Register under the Community Education class registration page. We need registrations by March 15^th so we can form the appropriate number of teams for our WEM summer softball program and enter them with the Southern Star League by the registration deadline.

Current 1^st and 2^nd graders are on the 8 and under team. 8U will just practice and intra-squad scrimmage.
Current 3^rd and 4^th graders are on the 10 and under team. The 10U league is on Monday or Wednesday nights.
Current 5^th and 6^th graders are on the 12 and under team. 12U league is on Tuesday or Thursday nights.
Current 7^th and 8^th graders are on the 14 and under team. The 14U league is on Monday or Wednesday nights.
Current 9^th-11^th graders are on the 16/18 and under team. The 16U/18U league is on Tuesday or Thursday nights.

There is a Southern Star League Tournament for all levels. Your registration fee will include the cost to play in this tournament. See below for tournament dates and locations. If your team decides to play in any other tournaments your team will be responsible for the entry fee.

10U – June 28-29, Location TBD
12U – June 28-29, Location TBD
14U & 16/18U – July 19-20 in Mankato or St. Peter

We will be using the SportsYou app this year to communicate with families and post schedules. Once teams are set an email will be sent explaining how to get set up on the app. Practice schedules will be created after we set teams and get coaches. Game schedules will also be posted on the WEM school activities calendar.
